While you’re there, you can also download a cool “Green Tip of the Day” widget to plug into your Facebook page, blog or other web site. The Climate Savers Computing Initiative supports the Weather Channel’s efforts to create an open dialogue around environmental issues.
After you’re done submitting your essay, don’t forget to do some good for the earth with your computer. Not sure what happened in 2008-- s Many disgruntled students are posting about how this was mis-handled in 2008, poor communications, possible misconduct by WC personnel, and more.
I will NEVER encourage my students to enter competitions that are built on media hype.
The Weather Channel's Forecast Earth VP is an ex-retail sales person, last year Hayden Panetierre
was featured, and in general, it seems contests like these are not in teens' best interests.
Better for them to work on non-commercialized projects; less hype, more learning!
